Sekisui Chemical Expands Footprint with Sixth Indian Facility in Pune

SEKISUI CHEMICAL CO., announced plans to establish its sixth manufacturing facility in India. The upcoming plant will be located in Pune, Maharashtra, and will manufacture injection-molded components for the automotive sector through its joint venture, SEKISUI DLJM MOLDING PRIVATE LIMITED. SEKISUI CHEMICAL has invested $3 million in the plant, which will begin operations in January 2026.

Strengthening the Injection Molding Business

The expansion is part of SEKISUI CHEMICAL’s strategic roadmap to strengthen its High Performance Plastics division, with a strong focus on the mobility and automotive markets. The company aims to tap into India’s surging demand for high-quality automobile parts, driven by rapid motorization and economic growth.

SEKISUI CHEMICAL and Dipty Lal Judge Mal Private Limited established SEKISUI DLJM MOLDING in 2011 as a joint venture. The company has consistently grown in line with the expansion of India’s automotive industry.

Strategic Location in Pune’s Chakan District

The plant will be situated in Chakan District, a key automotive manufacturing hub near Pune, known for its high concentration of auto OEMs and suppliers. The facility will cover a total area of 10,044 square meters, with a 6,288-square-meter production floor dedicated to manufacturing components for both automobiles and motorcycles.

SEKISUI CHEMICAL chose the Pune location for its robust industrial ecosystem and strong growth potential. The site also ensures close proximity to key customers and supply chain partners.

Boosting Capacity and Supporting Growth

With this facility, SEKISUI CHEMICAL will expand its production capacity in India by approximately 15%. This will support the company’s broader efforts to scale operations and serve the growing automotive market. As reported by themachinemaker.com, the investment marks a significant milestone in the company’s India strategy. It reinforces SEKISUI CHEMICAL’s long-term commitment to localized manufacturing and sustainable business growth.
