SHAKTI Group Commissions Gas Production Facility in Gujarat

SHAKTI Group of Companies commissioned a 178 tons per day (TPD) cryogenic Air Separation Unit (ASU) at Karjan, Gujarat, significantly expanding its industrial gas manufacturing capabilities and strengthening its presence in western India.

The facility, operated by Shaktishree Air Pvt. Ltd., will produce Liquid Oxygen (LOX), Liquid Nitrogen (LIN), and Liquid Argon (LAR). Through this investment, SHAKTI aims to enhance its supply capabilities for both industrial and medical gas markets while supporting the growing demand for high-quality gases across multiple sectors.

Expanding Capacity to Meet Rising Market Demand

The commissioning of the Karjan plant comes at a time when demand for industrial gases continues to grow across manufacturing, healthcare, infrastructure, renewable energy, and advanced technology industries.

As industrial production expands and new infrastructure projects gain momentum, the need for reliable supplies of oxygen, nitrogen, and argon has increased substantially. Recognizing this opportunity, SHAKTI has invested in large-scale cryogenic gas production to strengthen its market position and ensure dependable supply for customers. The new facility marks the company’s entry into larger-scale cryogenic liquid gas manufacturing and represents a key milestone in its long-term growth strategy.

Supporting Diverse Industrial Applications

The Karjan Air Separation Unit has been designed to serve a broad spectrum of industries that depend on industrial gases for critical operations. These include steel and metal processing, pharmaceuticals and healthcare, solar energy manufacturing, engineering and fabrication, infrastructure and construction and advanced manufacturing industries.

Industrial gases play an essential role in numerous applications, including welding, metal cutting, heat treatment, semiconductor manufacturing, pharmaceutical production, and medical oxygen supply. By increasing local production capacity, SHAKTI aims to improve availability and provide enhanced service support to customers across these sectors.

Enhancing Supply Reliability Across Western India

In addition to increasing production volumes, the new facility is expected to strengthen SHAKTI’s regional distribution network and improve delivery responsiveness. The company has developed the plant with a strong focus on operational reliability, supply resilience, and future scalability. As a result, SHAKTI will be better positioned to maintain consistent supplies of oxygen, nitrogen, and argon across key industrial clusters in Gujarat and neighboring regions. Furthermore, localized production will enable faster response times, improved logistics efficiency, and greater flexibility in meeting customer requirements.

Leadership Highlights Strategic Growth Milestone

Vipul Patel, Managing Director of SHAKTI Group, described the project as a major milestone in the company’s expansion journey. He noted that the 178 TPD facility significantly enhances SHAKTI’s ability to support industries that play a vital role in India’s manufacturing growth, infrastructure development, and economic progress. The investment also reflects the company’s commitment to building robust industrial gas infrastructure capable of supporting both current market demand and future industrial expansion.

Positioned to Support India’s Industrial Growth

The Karjan plant is now fully operational, and production has commenced. As India continues to invest in renewable energy, healthcare infrastructure, advanced manufacturing, and large-scale industrial projects, demand for industrial gases is expected to remain strong in the coming years. By commissioning the Air Separation Unit, SHAKTI has strengthened its capability to participate in this growth while ensuring a reliable supply of critical gases for industries across western India.

As reported by manufacturingtodayindia.com, the project also aligns with the company’s broader strategy of expanding production capacity, strengthening supply networks, and contributing to India’s evolving industrial ecosystem through dependable and scalable gas manufacturing infrastructure.
