Shakti Pumps (India) Limited, manufacturer of energy-efficient pumps and motors, received its seventh patent from the patent office. The patent acknowledges Shakti Pumps’ innovative contribution in the development of a ‘grinder pump assembly with adjustable impeller’. In accordance with the Patents Act of 1970, the patent will remain valid for a duration of twenty years.

The innovative invention introduces a grinder pump assembly featuring an adjustable impeller, providing an effective and dependable solution for the grinding and processing of solid waste in wastewater. As reported by blinkX, the technology reduces the size of solid materials, enhancing their ease of handling during subsequent treatment processes. It also generates smaller particles that respond more effectively to downstream treatment methods like sedimentation, biological treatment, filtration, and transportation. Consequently, it significantly enhances the overall efficiency of wastewater treatment and industrial processes.

Dinesh Patidar, Chairman, Shakti Pumps commented, “Solid waste is a primary cause of obstructions and blockages in wastewater lines, often leading to operational disruptions and significant maintenance costs. Our innovative solution effectively mitigates these challenges, resulting in minimal maintenance requirements and reduced operational downtime. This technology offers practical and sustainable solutions for wastewater treatment plants and various industrial applications, especially in situations where reducing the size of solid particles is a crucial step in manufacturing or treatment processes”.
