Successful Sixth Edition of Sulphur Recovery and Gas Treating Conference

The sixth edition of SulGas®, organised by Three Ten Initiative Technologies LLP, took place from January 31 to February 2, 2024, at Novotel Juhu, Mumbai. The event brought together public-sector oil companies, private refiners, petrochemical, chemical, and fertilizer plants, licensors, engineering companies, solvent and column equipment manufacturers, as well as control and instrumentation companies.

SulGas 2024, helmed by experts from various sectors of the sulphur and gas processing sphere, received extensive support from Indian and foreign industry associations and media houses. The event saw participation from over 155 attendees, representing more than 68 companies with notable end- users such as BPCL, ExxonMobil, HMEL, HPCL, IOCL, MRPL, Nayara, Petronas, and RIL among the participants.

As per the press release, SulGas 2024 provided an ideal opportunity for experts to engage with their peers, share best practices and troubleshooting tips, and discuss advanced technologies and operating procedures with technology providers, vendors, and licensors. The conference featured thirty-three speakers in interactive technical sessions, fostering maximum technical exchanges among participants. Additionally, a dedicated exhibition area with full-day access for all delegates was made available.

The opening keynote of the sixth edition was delivered by S. Bharathan, Director (Refineries) of HPCL. There were ten sessions that covered a broad range of topics including decarbonization and carbon capture, enhancing SRU capacity &and recovery, advances in SRU instrumentation, simulation, and control, SRU waste heat boilers, gas processing, operational challenges with SRUs, emission reduction and decarbonization, and tail gas treating. Another unique aspect of the meeting was a panel discussion at the end of each session with open Q&A. The seventh edition of the SulGas conference is scheduled to take place in Mumbai from February 5 to 7, 2025.
