Transport Corporation of India Limited (TCI), one of India’s leading integrated logistics and supply chain solutions providers, announced a strategic collaboration with FLYING WHALES and its operational subsidiary, FLYING WHALES SERVICES. The partnership aims to explore next-generation logistics solutions in India using the LCA60T rigid cargo airship—an innovative heavy-lift aircraft designed to transform the transportation of bulky and mission-critical cargo.

Introducing the LCA60T: A 60-Ton Rigid Cargo Airship

At the center of this collaboration is the LCA60T aeronautical program, developed by FLYING WHALES. The LCA60T is a rigid cargo airship capable of carrying payloads of up to 60 tons. In addition, the LCA60T is designed to support low-carbon logistics by significantly reducing emissions compared to conventional heavy transport modes.

Enabling Decarbonized and Mission-Critical Logistics

Through this collaboration, TCI and FLYING WHALES will assess how the LCA60T can:

*Decarbonize the transportation of heavy and bulky goods

*Support high-value and mission-critical industrial programs

*Develop new logistics corridors in underserved regions

*Enhance infrastructure and supply chain efficiency across India

The partnership aligns with India’s growing focus on sustainable infrastructure and green logistics solutions.

Leadership Endorsement and Strategic Intent

The Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed in the presence of Vineet Agarwal, Managing Director, and Rajkiran Kanagala, Chief Business Officer, Transport Corporation of India, along with Sébastien Bougon, President of FLYING WHALES and President of FLYING WHALES SERVICES. FLYING WHALES, a French-Canadian company, is developing the LCA60T program through advanced engineering innovation and an industrial consortium. The company aims to redefine heavy cargo transport through safe, sustainable, and infrastructure-light aviation solutions.

Strengthening India’s Integrated Logistics Ecosystem

TCI operates one of India’s most extensive multimodal logistics networks, spanning road, rail, coastal shipping, air freight, and warehousing. The company manages approximately 2% of India’s GDP (by cargo value) annually, serving diverse industries across the country. By combining TCI’s nationwide supply chain expertise with FLYING WHALES’ cutting-edge airship technology, the collaboration seeks to create an integrated, future-ready logistics ecosystem. As per the press release, the strategic alliance positions both companies to accelerate innovation in heavy-lift transport, unlock new market opportunities, and contribute to India’s sustainable infrastructure development goals.
