THDC Unveils India’s Largest Green Hydrogen Pilot Project

THDC India Limited, a Power Sector PSU, implemented a premier pilot project aligned with the national green hydrogen mission. The project, established at the Rishikesh office complex, was inaugurated by R. K. Vishnoi, Chairman and Managing Director, THDCIL.

The pilot project plans to produce 50 KG of green hydrogen daily, leveraging input energy from a 1 MW rooftop solar plant. The produced green hydrogen will be stored in two storage tanks and utilised during night hours to illuminate the THDCIL office complex through a 70 Kw PEM Fuel Cell.

As reported by The Free Press Journal, the project is India’s largest electrolyser end fuel cell-based pilot project, showcasing THDCIL’s commitment to exploring cutting-edge technologies in green hydrogen production, H2 storage, and featuring a PEM (Proton Exchange Membrane) hydrogen fuel cell-based microgrid system. The significant achievement by THDCIL serves as a testament to its dedication towards advancing sustainable practices and embracing innovative solutions in the realm of green energy.
