Volks Bags BPCL Contract for Irugur-Devangonthi Pipeline Project

Volks Energie bagged a contract from Bharat Petroleum Corporation Limited (BPCL) to deploy solar photovoltaic (PV) systems along with lithium-ion battery and charger units for the Irugur–Devangonthi Pipeline (IDPL) project. The pipeline spans key regions in Tamil Nadu and Karnataka and plays a crucial role in BPCL’s petroleum distribution network.

Enhancing Off-Grid Reliability in Remote Areas

The project will integrate solar energy with advanced battery storage to provide off-grid backup power for various pipeline control stations and operational sites. These renewable systems will power critical infrastructure, including:

*SCADA systems

*Cathodic protection equipment

*Other essential remote monitoring and control components

The move ensures uninterrupted functionality in remote locations where grid access is limited or unreliable.

Building on Past Success

As reported by projectstoday.com, this marks the second contract awarded by BPCL to Volks Energie for pipeline-related infrastructure. The first involved a similar deployment for pipeline systems in Telangana and Andhra Pradesh, demonstrating the company’s growing credibility in providing clean, resilient energy solutions for India’s oil and gas sector.
