ACME Solar Orders 3.1 GWh Battery Storage from Narada and Trina

ACME Solar Holdings placed an order for over 3.1 GWh of battery energy storage systems (BESS), in what it describes as one of the largest battery storage procurements in India to date. The Haryana-based renewable energy developer plans to deploy the BESS across multiple upcoming projects scheduled for commissioning within the next 12 to 18 months. These projects are spread across India and are part of the company’s strategic push to expand its renewable energy and storage footprint.

Phased Shipments from Chinese Suppliers

Chinese energy storage manufacturers Zhejiang Narada and Trina Energy will supply the BESS. ACME will deliver the equipment in phased shipments over the next four to eight months, ensuring timely integration into its project pipeline.

Meeting Global Standards

According to ACME, the ordered BESS units will adhere to stringent international standards, including those set by the International Electrotechnical Commission (IEC) and Underwriters Laboratories (UL), ensuring safety, reliability, and performance.

Expanding Renewable and Storage Portfolio

ACME currently boasts a renewable energy and storage portfolio of 6.97 GW, which includes 530 MWh of operational energy storage capacity. Of this total, 2.89 GW is already operational, while 4.08 GW is under various stages of development. Ess-news.com reports that the latest battery procurement will significantly boost the company’s energy storage capabilities. It will also enhance grid reliability as India continues its transition to clean energy.
