Indian clean energy engineering company Advait Greenergy Pvt. Ltd. (AGPL) and its technology partner, Jiangsu Guofu Hydrogen Energy Equipment (GuofuHee) of China, have successfully conducted a live factory acceptance test and technical demonstration of a 5 MW pressurized alkaline water electrolyzer at GuofuHee’s manufacturing facility in Zhangjiagang, China.

The industrial-scale system is capable of producing 1,000 Nm³ of green hydrogen per hour and was showcased operating under real-world industrial conditions before deployment.

The demonstration is part of a strategic collaboration between AGPL and GuofuHee that combines GuofuHee’s advanced hydrogen electrolyzer technology with AGPL’s manufacturing and engineering expertise. The partnership aims to localize advanced electrolyzer manufacturing in India in line with the National Green Hydrogen Mission.

During the live demonstration, customers and stakeholders observed key operational parameters, including cold start, hot restart, hot standby, dynamic load response, load regulation, hydrogen purity, operating pressure, and specific energy consumption. According to AGPL, the event was designed to provide complete transparency into the performance of industrial-scale hydrogen generation systems while enabling in-depth technical discussions with engineering teams.

The programme attracted participation from more than 70 organizations representing the global green hydrogen ecosystem through both in-person and virtual sessions.

Commenting on the event, Rutvi Sheth, Director of Advait Greenergy, said the demonstration gave customers and industry stakeholders a valuable opportunity to evaluate the performance and reliability of the electrolyzer technology under actual operating conditions.

To support India’s growing green hydrogen sector, Advait Greenergy has established an alkaline electrolyzer assembly facility at Kadi, Gujarat, with an initial production capacity of 30 MW per year. The company plans to scale up manufacturing capacity to 300 MW and eventually 1 GW.

Beyond electrolyzer manufacturing, AGPL offers integrated green hydrogen solutions, including engineering, procurement and construction (EPC), Balance of Plant (BoP), hydrogen storage, compression systems, and associated infrastructure.

The partnership between Advait Greenergy and GuofuHee is expected to accelerate technology transfer, strengthen domestic manufacturing of advanced electrolyzers, and support the deployment of integrated hydrogen infrastructure across industries such as refineries, fertilizers, steel, chemicals, mobility, and other hard-to-abate sectors, helping advance India’s clean energy transition.
