Circular economy company Recykal has invested ₹10 crore in Walbha Industries, a manufacturer of biomass briquettes and pellets, marking its strategic entry into the bioenergy value chain.
The investment expands Recykal’s business beyond waste management into biomass-based industrial fuels, strengthening its commitment to sustainable and circular economy solutions.
Through the partnership, Walbha Industries will leverage Recykal’s extensive network of more than 620 brands and manufacturers, creating a robust demand channel for its biomass briquettes and pellets. In return, Recykal’s enterprise customers will gain access to verified and sustainable biomass fuel for industrial use.
As part of the collaboration, Walbha will also integrate Recykal’s digital technology platform to streamline and digitize its supply chain, improving operational efficiency and traceability. The investment will further support Walbha’s plans to expand its operations into South India.
Walbha Industries currently operates a biomass production facility in Jhansi and supplies biomass briquettes and pellets to industrial customers across North and Central India.
Founded in 2015, Recykal provides digital solutions for waste management, deposit return systems, circular commerce, and AI-enabled reverse vending machines. According to the company, it has channelized more than 3 million metric tonnes of waste and works with over 650 brands and more than 5,000 aggregators and recyclers.
The investment reflects Recykal’s strategy to strengthen sustainable resource management by integrating biomass-based renewable energy solutions into its growing circular economy ecosystem.
