Alfa Laval has launched Clariot™, an advanced, AI-based condition monitoring solution engineered specifically for hygienic process equipment. Designed to deliver real-time insights, Clariot™ helps manufacturers boost uptime, prevent unplanned failures, and optimize resource efficiency.

Built on Global Expertise, Designed for Hygienic Industries

Clariot™ draws on Alfa Laval’s extensive experience with over 3,000 condition monitoring units installed worldwide. “With new hardware and software, we can now offer a complete digital handshake, tailored for use in demanding hygienic processes,” said Torsten Pedersen, Commercial Head of Condition Monitoring at Alfa Laval Fluid Handling.

Unplanned downtime remains a costly challenge—causing billions of euros in annual losses due to product waste, production delays, and equipment damage. Clariot™ aims to reverse this trend by providing a smarter way to maintain operations at peak performance.

Smart Monitoring for Critical Equipment

Designed for 24/7 performance, Clariot™ monitors pumps, agitators, and other rotating equipment in real-time. It issues alerts, diagnostics, and early warnings that help operators proactively address issues before they lead to failures. By extending equipment life and minimizing downtime, Clariot™ improves both productivity and return on investment.

“In a world where every drop and every man-hour count, our customers increasingly seek solutions that improve uptime and reduce waste. This is where Clariot™ makes a difference,” Pedersen emphasised.

Driving Predictive Maintenance Through Digital Innovation

Clariot™ supports Alfa Laval’s broader digitalization strategy, aligning smart technologies with operational and resource efficiency goals. The system uses sensor data and AI-powered analytics to enable predictive maintenance strategies—empowering manufacturers to make informed decisions and avoid costly breakdowns.

“We firmly believe predictive maintenance is the future of manufacturing,” said Pedersen. “Time and time again, our solutions have helped operators take preventive action before failure occurs.”

Simple, Secure, and Scalable

As per company press release, Clariot™ operates as a standalone system, ensuring cybersecurity by remaining independent of internal business-critical networks. It offers simple installation, is compatible with most major pump brands, and features an intuitive user interface.

Even better, it delivers measurable ROI. “In a setup with 50 pumps, just one unplanned stop per quarter can cause losses of up to €80,000 annually. Clariot™ costs less than one-tenth of that—delivering a fast payback,” Pedersen explained.
