Associated Alcohols & Breweries Limited successfully initiated the operational phase of its ethanol production facility located in Barwaha, Indore, Madhya Pradesh. With a capacity of 130 kilo litres per day (KLPD), the ethanol plant represents a substantial investment of approximately ₹150 crore. The grain-based ethanol facility is designed to handle diverse feedstocks, showcasing the company’s commitment to versatility.

Utilising cutting-edge technology and embracing eco-friendly practices, the plant stands as a significant milestone in Associated Alcohols pursuit of providing sustainable energy solutions. The installation of a boiler alongside the ethanol plant enhances operational efficiency by accommodating various fuels, such as coal, husk, and briquettes.

As reported by bseindia.com, the strategic integration of the ethanol plant aligns seamlessly with the brands existing portfolio, reinforcing its position as a reliable supplier of high-quality Extra Neutral Alcohol (ENA) for both its own Indian Made Foreign Liquor (IMFL) products and other bottlers. The expansion not only supports the company’s commitment to clean energy, but also underscores its dedication to meeting industry demands with advanced and environmentally conscious practices.

Prasann Kumar Kedia, Managing Director Associated Alcohols & Breweries Limited commented, “The commencement of the ethanol plant is a testament to our dedication to sustainable energy. We have already received the orders from oil marketing companies (OMCs) for the supply till April 2024. The OMCs have recently revised the rate of maize-based ethanol to ₹71.86, and since we are currently using maize as feedstock, we are billing the ethanol to OMCs at this revised rate. While the launch is cause for celebration, like any new venture, there may be some teething issues during the initial phases. However, we are confident in our team’s ability to overcome them swiftly. We appreciate the support of our stakeholders and the community as we embark on this exciting journey towards a greener and more sustainable future”.
