EODev, the French clean energy company specialising in hydrogen power generation and energy storage systems, partnered with Baudouin, a French manufacturer of power solutions, to introduce industrial-scale Solid Oxide Fuel Cell (SOFC) power generation systems. The strategic alliance marks a significant step towards delivering a new generation of high-efficiency distributed power solutions designed to meet the growing energy needs of data centres, industrial facilities, and critical infrastructure. The companies will officially unveil the new offering in September 2026.
Partnership Targets Growing Demand for Reliable Distributed Power
As electricity demand continues to rise across Europe, operators of data centres, manufacturing plants, and essential infrastructure face increasing challenges in securing reliable power. Grid congestion, lengthy connection delays, and the transition towards renewable energy have intensified the need for dependable on-site electricity generation. To address these challenges, EODev and Baudouin are combining their expertise to provide distributed power systems capable of delivering continuous, reliable, and lower-carbon electricity.
Solid Oxide Fuel Cells Deliver Efficient, Low-Carbon Power
At the heart of the partnership is Solid Oxide Fuel Cell (SOFC) technology, which generates electricity through an electrochemical process rather than combustion. SOFC systems can operate using natural gas, renewable gases, or hydrogen, offering greater fuel flexibility while significantly reducing greenhouse gas emissions.
Key benefits of SOFC technology include high electrical efficiency, lower carbon dioxide (CO₂) emissions, near-zero air pollutant emissions, quiet and continuous operation, grid-connected or
off-grid capability and waste heat recovery for combined heat and power (CHP) applications. Consequently, SOFC technology provides an ideal solution for organisations seeking dependable, around-the-clock power while advancing their decarbonisation goals.
Expanding EODev’s Clean Energy Portfolio
For EODev, the partnership complements its existing portfolio of hydrogen generators and battery energy storage systems (BESS) by adding a continuous baseload power solution. Unlike intermittent renewable energy sources, SOFC systems provide uninterrupted electricity generation, making them well suited for facilities that require constant power availability. Each standard SOFC unit delivers 600 kW of power and can be combined into multi-megawatt installations to meet the energy requirements of large industrial and commercial sites.
Baudouin Strengthens Its New Energy Strategy
The collaboration also enables Baudouin to expand its expertise beyond conventional power generation by entering the rapidly growing fuel cell market. By integrating advanced SOFC technology into its product portfolio, the company strengthens its position in next-generation energy solutions while continuing to support customers with reliable and high-performance power systems.

Commercial Rollout Planned for 2026
Under the agreement, EODev will integrate Baudouin’s SOFC solutions across Europe, holding exclusive distribution rights in France and Poland, while jointly exploring opportunities in international markets. The technology is currently undergoing field validation through pilot installations. Following successful trials, the companies plan to officially launch the solution in September 2026, with the first commercial customer deliveries expected in the first quarter of 2027.
