Indorama Ventures Public Company Limited (IVL), a global sustainable chemical company, partnered with Chulalongkorn University and the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) to support the Chula Leaders for Global Operations (Chula LGO) Program. Through the collaboration, Indorama Ventures aims to develop future-ready leaders, strengthen its global talent pipeline, and bring fresh perspectives that can drive innovation, operational excellence, and long-term sustainable growth across the chemical industry.
A Unique Dual-Degree Program Combining Engineering and Business
The Chula LGO Program is a two-year dual-degree master’s program offered by Chulalongkorn University through its Faculty of Engineering and Chulalongkorn Business School, in partnership with the MIT Leaders for Global Operations (LGO) program. Importantly, the program combines engineering, business management, leadership development, and hands-on industry learning. As a result, students gain the multidisciplinary skills required to address increasingly complex industrial and operational challenges. Upon completing the program, graduates will receive a Master of Engineering degree from Chulalongkorn University and an MBA from Chulalongkorn Business School.
Indorama Ventures Funds Two Scholarships
As a Tier Founder Sponsor, Indorama Ventures is supporting the development of future industry leaders who can combine strong engineering knowledge with strategic business capabilities. As part of this commitment, the company is funding two scholarships for outstanding students pursuing the Chula LGO dual-degree program. This year’s recipients include both an external student and an existing Indorama Ventures employee. Therefore, the initiative reflects the company’s dual approach to talent development—attracting promising new professionals while simultaneously investing in the continued growth and leadership potential of its existing workforce.
Six-Month Fellowship Offers Real Industry Experience
Following the completion of the program, scholarship recipients will undertake a six-month fellowship with Indorama Ventures. During the fellowship, participants will gain first-hand exposure to the company’s industrial operations and business transformation initiatives. They will also work alongside experienced professionals and apply their engineering and management knowledge to real-world business challenges. The fellowship may open opportunities for participants to pursue careers with Indorama Ventures. In this way, the initiative supports the company’s long-term strategy of building a diverse, high-performing, and future-ready global workforce.
Building Leaders with Technical and Business Expertise
Aloke Lohia, Group CEO of Indorama Ventures, said, “Developing future leaders with both technical expertise and business acumen is essential to driving innovation and long-term value. That is why Indorama Ventures chose to become a Founder Sponsor of the Chula LGO Program, as we believe Thailand is home to exceptional talent. By combining world-class education with industry collaboration today, we are helping develop the next generation of leaders who will contribute toward the future of the broader chemical industry.”
Investing in Talent at Every Stage
Nicolas Seguin, Chief Human Resources Officer of Indorama Ventures, highlighted, “At Indorama Ventures, we believe our greatest asset is our people. These scholarships reflect our commitment to developing talent at every stage of the professional journey, supporting outstanding external students while also investing in the continued growth of our own employees.” He further noted that, combined with the fellowship program, the initiative gives participants an opportunity to learn from experienced professionals, gain direct exposure to a global chemical manufacturing environment, and apply their knowledge to real business challenges.
Strengthening Industry-Academia Collaboration
Professor Dr. Sawekchai Tangaramvong, Chair of the Chula–Leaders for Global Operations (Chula LGO) Program, said that Indorama Ventures’ support will further strengthen the connection between interdisciplinary education and real industrial challenges. “Through the scholarships and fellowship program, students gain invaluable industry experience while developing the engineering, management, and leadership capabilities needed to solve complex challenges. These experiences help prepare graduates to contribute to Thailand’s industrial transformation and sustainable growth.”
Supporting the Future of the Global Chemical Industry
By supporting the Chula LGO Program, Indorama Ventures is reinforcing its commitment to talent development, industry-academia collaboration, leadership development, and sustainable growth. As per the press release, the partnership brings together world-class education, practical industry experience, and business leadership development. Through scholarships and hands-on fellowships, Indorama Ventures is helping prepare the next generation of professionals to address evolving challenges and create long-term value for the global chemical and manufacturing industries.
