IOL Chemicals and Pharmaceuticals Limited announced three strategic projects to expand its manufacturing capabilities and strengthen its pharmaceutical and specialty chemicals businesses. The company plans to invest a combined ₹495 crore in these initiatives to increase production capacity, enter the contract development and manufacturing organisation (CDMO) segment and expand its specialty chemicals operations.
₹350 Crore Investment to Expand Manufacturing Capacity
The first project involves expanding production capacity by 6,000 metric tons per annum (MTPA), taking the company’s total capacity to 18,000 MTPA. IOL Chemicals will invest ₹350 crore to establish the additional capacity at its existing manufacturing facility in Barnala, Punjab. This expansion will strengthen the company’s manufacturing infrastructure and support its plans to meet growing market demand.
Entry into the Pharmaceutical CDMO Segment
Under the second project, IOL Chemicals plans to establish a dedicated manufacturing facility with a capacity of 1,500 million tablets or an equivalent volume of direct compressible (DC) grade products. Through this investment, the company aims to move further into the pharmaceutical CDMO segment, expanding its manufacturing and contract production capabilities.
₹35 Crore Investment in Specialty Chemicals
The third project involves an investment of ₹35 crore to establish a dedicated manufacturing facility for a specialty chemical product. The facility will manufacture the product for a leading global chemical company under a long-term tolling arrangement. The initiative will further strengthen IOL Chemicals’ specialty chemicals business and create opportunities for long-term manufacturing partnerships.
₹495 Crore Investment to Drive Business Diversification
Together, the three projects represent a planned investment of ₹495 crore. As reported by projectstday.ai, through these strategic initiatives, IOL Chemicals and Pharmaceuticals aims to expand its manufacturing footprint, diversify its product portfolio and strengthen its presence across pharmaceutical and specialty chemical markets.
