MNRE Eases ALMM Implementation Timeline

To simplify procedures for government-backed solar projects, the Ministry of New and Renewable Energy (MNRE) announced that the use of solar cells listed under the Approved List of Models and Manufacturers (ALMM) will become mandatory only one month after the publication of the updated list.

Ensuring Reliability and Consumer Protection

The ALMM framework verifies the reliability of solar equipment manufacturers, safeguards consumer interests, and strengthens the nation’s energy security. By enforcing quality checks through ALMM, MNRE builds trust in solar projects and supports India’s clean energy transition.

Boosting Domestic Solar Manufacturing

As reported by ptinews.com, introduced in 2019, the ALMM Order (List I) covers solar modules to encourage the production and adoption of made-in-India solar panels. Government projects can procure only PV modules from ALMM-listed models and manufacturers, creating a robust domestic solar ecosystem.
