Modi Naturals announced that its wholly owned subsidiary, Modi Biotech Private Limited, has started commercial operations at its expanded grain-based ethanol plant in Chhattisgarh. With the expansion now operational, the facility’s production capacity has increased from 130 kilo litres per day (KLPD) to 282 KLPD, enabling the company to significantly scale up its ethanol manufacturing capabilities.

The expansion represents a more than two-fold increase in production capacity, making the Chhattisgarh facility one of the key ethanol production units within the company’s portfolio. By enhancing the installed capacity from 130 KLPD to 282 KLPD, Modi Biotech can now produce substantially higher volumes of grain-based ethanol. As a result, the facility is expected to play a larger role in meeting the growing demand for biofuels in India.
Supporting India’s Ethanol Blending Programme
Importantly, the expansion aligns with the Government of India’s Ethanol Blended Petrol (EBP) Programme, which aims to increase ethanol blending in petrol and reduce dependence on fossil fuels.
