Sigachi Industries, a Hyderabad-based player in excipient manufacturing, is set to commission a croscarmellose sodium facility at Dahej, Gujarat, by October 2026. The company has already secured environmental clearance for the project.

Managing Director & CEO Amit Raj Sinha said the facility will complement Sigachi’s existing microcrystalline cellulose (MCC) portfolio, enabling the company to deliver holistic excipient solutions to the pharmaceutical industry.

Strong Growth in MCC Production

Sigachi reported a 29.57% surge in MCC production in FY25, reaching 19,387 MTPA, significantly ahead of industry growth trends. Over the past five years, the company’s MCC revenue has grown at a CAGR of 26.47%. To meet rising demand, Sigachi is also expanding its MCC capacity to 25,000 MTPA.

Expanding API Business and R&D Capabilities

Sigachi is also scaling up its active pharmaceutical ingredients business. The expansion has been reinforced by the 2023 acquisition of an 80% stake in Trimax Bio Sciences. Additionally, the company has established a state-of-the-art R&D centre in Hyderabad, strengthening its innovation pipeline and product development capabilities.

Driving Innovation and Industry Leadership

With the commissioning of the CCS facility, ongoing MCC expansion, and a growing API portfolio, Sigachi is positioning itself as a comprehensive solutions provider in the pharma excipients space. These initiatives underline its commitment to innovation, scalability, and long-term industry leadership.
