Top Companies Selected for Electrolyser Incentive Scheme

Successful bidders for the government’s incentives to establish facilities for green hydrogen production, as part of the Strategic Interventions for Green Hydrogen Transition (SIGHT) Scheme, have been announced. The selected companies are Reliance Green Hydrogen and Green Chemicals, ACME Cleantech Solutions, and Greenko Zero, and a few more. The Solar Energy Corporation of India (SECI) had invited bids on July 10 2023 for the production of 4,50,000 tons of green hydrogen.

Out of the twelve qualified bids, nine companies secured incentives for a total capacity of 4,10,000 tons, exceeding the offered capacity of 4,50,000 tons. Reliance Green Hydrogen and Green Chemicals will receive incentives for producing 90,000 tons at an average rate of ₹18.9 per kg over three years. ACME Cleantech Solutions and Greenko ZeroC will each produce 90,000 tons at an average rate of ₹30 per kg.

Other successful bidders include Torrent Power (18,000 tons at ₹28.89 per kg), HHP Two Private Ltd (75,000 tons at ₹25.04 per kg), Welspun New Energy (20,000 tons at ₹20 per kg), CESC Projects Ltd (500 tons), UPL Ltd (10,000 tons), and JSW Neo Energy Ltd (6,500 tons at ₹34.66 per kg).

As reported by The Economic Times, Sembcorp Green Hydrogen India Private Ltd, Avaada GreenH2 Private Ltd, and GH4INDIA Private Ltd did not receive incentives under Bucket-1 (Technology Agnostic Pathways).Bharat Petroleum Corporation Ltd (BPCL) secured incentives at an average rate of ₹30 per kg for establishing a 2,000-ton production facility under Bucket-2 (Biomass Based Pathways).
