ACME Group, a renewable energy firm, and IHI Corporation, an integrated heavy industry group from Japan, have signed an offtake term agreement for the supply of green ammonia from Odisha, India, to Japan. The Founder and Chairman of Acme Group, Manoj Upadhyay, and the President and CEO of IHI Corporation, Hiroshi Ide, inked the term sheet.

The signed term sheet between IHI and Acme outlines the provisions for the supply of 0.4 million metric tons per annum (MMTPA) of green ammonia from phase one of the Odisha project situated in Gopalpur on a long-term basis. As reported by Indian Defence News, the aim is to establish a robust market for green ammonia, intending its utilisation in various applications such as power generation and diverse industrial uses in Japan, thereby contributing to an overall reduction in emissions.
