Government Urges Industry Leaders to Invest in Green Technology for Sustainable Future

The government has emphasized the significance of coal and lignite gasification projects in India’s shift towards cleaner energy sources and has encouraged industry players to invest in this technology for a more environment-friendly future. Industry players have been urged to actively participate in the Request for Proposal (RFP) process and contribute their insights to ensure transparency and openness in the initiative.

The ministry of coal is dedicated to fostering investments and technological advancements in coal/gasification projects through strategic initiatives and policy frameworks, aligning with India’s goals for a cleaner and more energy-efficient future. In a previous decision, the union cabinet approved ₹8,500 crore incentive scheme for coal gasification projects. As reported by Business Standard, the adoption of gasification technology in India is anticipated to decrease the country’s dependence on imports of natural gas, methanol, ammonia, and other essential products.
