NTPC subsidiary NGEL entered into an agreement with the government of Andhra Pradesh to establish an integrated green hydrogen hub near Pudimadaka village in Visakhapatnam district. The land lease agreement was formalized between NTPC Green Energy Limited (NGEL) and Andhra Pradesh Industrial Infrastructure Corporation (APIIC) for the project.

The envisioned Pudimadaka green hydrogen hub aims to foster a cutting-edge ecosystem for technologies pertinent to the evolving energy landscape. It will encompass facilities for electrolyzer and fuel cell manufacturing, along with supporting ancillary industries, startup incubation centres, testing facilities, and the production and export of green hydrogen and its derivatives like green ammonia and green methanol.

As reported by ETEnergyworld.com, a significant aspect of the project involves the construction of India’s largest green hydrogen production facility, boasting a capacity of 1,200 TPD (tons per day). The facility will focus on producing derivatives of hydrogen to cater primarily to various international markets.
