Thermax’s subsidiary has secured a significant order valued at over ₹500 crore from an energy conglomerate. The contract involves the establishment of five bio-CNG plants in various regions, including Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh, Maharashtra, and Uttar Pradesh. These facilities, boasting a collective capacity of 110 tons per day (TPD) for bio-CNG production, will leverage more than 1,000 TPD of locally sourced feedstock, encompassing materials such as rice straw, napier grass, cane trash, and soya trash.

The bio-CNG generated by these plants will be utilised for both commercial purposes and captive consumption by the client. The undertaking is part of Thermax’s broader strategy to introduce innovative solutions in the realms of bio-chemicals and bio-energy. As a major player in biomass-based green energy solutions, Thermax has prioritised fuel flexibility and established a robust biomass-sourcing supply chain for consistent fuel provision.

In alignment with its commitment to clean energy, Thermax is actively working towards installing one GW of hybrid renewable energy solutions by the fiscal year 2027. The projects will span intra-state and inter-state locations.
