ACME Group to set up Green Hydrogen and Green Ammonia Plant in Odisha

The Gopalpur Industrial Park in Odisha will soon get the state’s first green hydrogen project after Tata Steel Special Economic Zone Limited (TSSEZL) and diversified renewable energy company ACME group signed an agreement.

For the purpose of establishing a green hydrogen and its derivatives facility, ACME Clean Energy Private Limited (ACME group) will purchase 343 acres at TSSEZL’s Gopalpur Industrial Park, which is situated in the Ganjam district of Odisha. The agreement was signed by Sandeep Kashyap, Chief Operating Officer of the ACME group, and Manikanta Naik, Managing Director, TSSEZL.

At the Gopalpur Industrial Park, ACME Group intends to build a facility capable of producing green ammonia at a rate of around 1.3 MTPA. The green hydrogen used to make this green ammonia will be powered by renewable energy, as will the production facilities.

As reported by The Telegraph online, the current Gopalpur port facility, which is close to the project site, will be used to export the green ammonia made at this facility to markets in the west and east. A dedicated corridor for efficient logistics and pipeline connectivity exists between Gopalpur Industrial Park and Gopalpur Port in the form of the utility corridor.
