JSW Neo Secures Green Hydrogen Production Facility Under SIGHT Scheme

JSW Neo Energy, a subsidiary of JSW Energy Limited secured capacity allocation of 6.5 KTPA in the inaugural auction held by the Solar Energy Corporation of India (SECI) under the Strategic Interventions for Green Hydrogen Transition (SIGHT) scheme.

The company received Letter of Award (LoA) from SECI, with the instruction to commission the capacity within thirty-six months from the LoA date. The initiative promises incentives totalling ₹67.6 crore over a three-year period post-commissioning, underscoring JSW Energy’s commitment to sustainability and India’s aspirations for achieving net-zero emissions.

With an ambitious target to reach twenty GW generation capacity and forty GWh of energy storage capacity by 2030, JSW Energy aims to significantly expand its renewable energy portfolio.

Currently, boasting a total capacity of 9.8 GW (inclusive of projects under construction), the company is well on track to meet its interim goal of 10 GW by 2025. JSW Energy has secured 3.4 GWh of energy storage capacity through battery energy storage systems and hydro pumped storage projects.

As reported by MoneyWorks4Me, JSW Energy has set a target of reducing its carbon footprint by 50% by 2030 and ultimately achieving carbon neutrality by 2050.
